About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Elixir Engineer to join our partner companies running Phoenix in production: messaging platforms, real-time dashboards, logistics backends, and anything where thousands of concurrent connections are the normal case. Elixir teams are small and the talent pool is thin, which makes experienced BEAM engineers in Latin America genuinely hard to find and worth the search.
What You'll Do
- Build services and APIs with Elixir and Phoenix
- Design OTP supervision trees and reason about failure and restart
- Build real-time features with Phoenix Channels, PubSub, or LiveView
- Model data with Ecto, including changesets and safe migrations
- Write ExUnit tests, including concurrency and property-based cases
- Profile and tune BEAM processes and memory behaviour
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development, 2+ with Elixir in production
- Solid grasp of OTP: GenServer, supervisors, restart strategies
- Experience with Phoenix and Ecto
- Strong PostgreSQL skills
- Comfortable with releases, Docker, and cloud deployment
- Excellent written and verbal English (B2+)
Nice to Have
- LiveView experience in a production interface
- Experience with Broadway or GenStage pipelines
- Erlang experience or a background in telecom systems
- Contributions to Elixir open source
