About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer for our partner companies pairing a Rails API with a React client. These are usually products with paying customers and a monolith that has earned its complexity. You'll add features without making it worse, and you'll be trusted with the parts of the codebase that handle money or customer data.
What You'll Do
- Build features across Rails and React with TypeScript
- Model data with ActiveRecord and write migrations safe for large tables
- Design and version the API contract between the two sides
- Build background processing with Sidekiq
- Write RSpec and frontend tests that cover real failure cases
- Keep upgrades moving on both Rails and the frontend toolchain
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional development across Ruby on Rails and React
- Strong ActiveRecord, PostgreSQL, and query-optimization skills
- Strong React and TypeScript skills
- Experience with Sidekiq or another background processor
- Testing discipline with RSpec and a frontend test runner
- Excellent written and verbal English (B2+)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Hotwire alongside React
- Experience with GraphQL in a Rails API
- Stripe or subscription billing experience
- Experience upgrading a large Rails application
