About the Role
We're looking for a Senior PHP Engineer with deep Laravel experience to join our partner companies building SaaS products, e-commerce platforms, and client applications. Modern PHP is a far cry from its reputation: Laravel powers a huge share of profitable US web businesses, and they need engineers who can architect clean systems, not just ship pages. You'll build APIs, queues, and integrations and keep a growing codebase maintainable.
What You'll Do
- Design and build applications and APIs with Laravel
- Model data with Eloquent and MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Build queues, scheduled jobs, and third-party integrations (Stripe, Twilio)
- Write automated tests with PHPUnit or Pest
- Build frontends with Livewire, Inertia, or Vue/React
- Own deployments with Forge, Vapor, Docker, or CI pipelines
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional PHP development, 3+ with Laravel
- Strong OOP, design patterns, and modern PHP 8 features
- Solid SQL skills and experience with query optimization
- Experience with Redis, queues, and caching strategies
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and CI/CD
- Excellent written and verbal English (B2+)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Livewire, Inertia, or Filament
- Experience with WordPress or Shopify integrations
- Knowledge of AWS and serverless PHP (Vapor)
- Contributions to the Laravel ecosystem
